KAMAZ HOSTED NEGOTIATIONS ON EQUIPMENT SUPPLIES

16 December 2021

The delegation headed by Walter Steinert, Regional Sales Manager at Starrag GmbH (Germany), has visited KAMAZ PTC to participate in negotiations on equipment delivery under the second stage of the Tibet project.

During the second stage of the Tibet project, the engine plant will receive equipment by Starrag: an R6 cylinder head line, an R6 flywheel housing machining center, and an intake manifold machining center. Extra seven units of equipment in all will be delivered for the straight-six KAMAZ engine production.

The line is also to be equipped with crane and conveying systems for equipment maintenance. All machines will go with technologies, tools and fixtures. The delivery will be carried out in three stages. The first supply is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022, the rest – during 2023.

As soon as the equipment is installed and launched, the production line for R6 cylinder heads machining will manage to produce 180 thous. parts per year (30 thous. KDs) with an opportunity of production of R6 cylinder heads for gas engines. The launch of the flywheel housing and intake manifold machining centers will help produce annually not less than 30 thous. units of each part. The equipment supplied is high-performance, and contributes to the sustained quality of the products together with up-to-date tools and technologies.

Starrag Group is a global technology leader in manufacturing high-precision machine tools for milling and boring workpieces of metallic and composite materials. KAMAZ has been successfully cooperating with this company since 1994.
