KAMAZ IS AMONG ESG LEADERS IN THE RUSSIAN INDUSTRY

KAMAZ PTC was among the leaders of the updated ESG ranking of Russian industrial companies based on the results of 2021 presented by the National Rating Agency.

The industrial part of the ranking included 75 companies transforming their business taking into account the goals of sustainable development and ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria. According to the results of cluster analysis, they were divided into five groups depending on the level of the ESG profile. Having scored 0.74 points, KAMAZ topped group 2 with the "developed" level of the ESG profile. This group also includes such large Russian companies and corporations as RZD, LUKOIL, Tatneft, Uralkali, Rosatom, Rusal, AK ALROSA, Sibur, etc. This indicates the effective corporate management of the company and adherence to the principles of its sustainable development.

“Ensuring business development, we take into account environmental, social and corporate governance factors, the ESG agenda is integrated into the company's activities. For example, social support and responsibility are an integral part of our policy. KAMAZ has always been and remains a socially responsible enterprise,” said Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ. “In addition, for several years the company's engineers have been trying to create a fundamentally new, high-tech, environmentally friendly products using innovative solutions, including gas-powered vehicles, electric vehicles, transport on hydrogen fuel cells. At the same time, a key role in the successful conduct of business is played by effective corporate governance – the managers’ leadership, timely adoption of balanced business decisions, and the prompt development of anti-crisis measures. This allows KAMAZ to work stably even in today's difficult conditions.”
