9 December 2021

Andrey Gladkov, Leasing Director of KAMAZ PTC, General Director of KAMAZ Leasing Company, took part in the XX Conference “Leasing in Russia-2021” held yesterday, December 8, in Moscow.

The annual conference organized by the credit rating agency "Expert RA" and the analytical company "Expert Business-Solutions" brought together the heads of leasing companies, lessees, financial institutions, as well as representatives of government bodies, heads of industry associations, and the media. The event was attended by more than 200 delegates.

Andrey Gladkov, as a speaker and expert, took part in the second session dedicated to the possibilities of leasing companies in ESG transformation of the Russian economy and made a presentation “Low-Carbon Development of KAMAZ PTC”. “Engineering is considered to be an industry with a significant carbon footprint. However, the largest amount of greenhouse gas emissions (over 90%) falls on the operation of trucks. When we started to study the ESG topic, it turned out that we have been on this path for a long time: since 2019, 18% of vehicles leased by KAMAZ Leasing Company JSC have been with a reduced level of natural gas emissions, gas engine vehicles,” noted in his speech Andrey Gladkov. “KAMAZ has a wide range of vehicles with a reduced level of greenhouse gas emissions: both trucks and passenger vehicles. These vehicles run on liquefied and compressed natural gas."

In confirmation of his words, the speaker presented to the participants the KAMAZ-54901 tractor running on liquefied natural gas and the NEFAZ 5299-40-57 bus running on liquefied and compressed natural gas, the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus.

According to Andrey Gladkov, KAMAZ has approved the Concept for financing green projects. Under the Concept, exchange-traded green bonds were issued. The volume of the issue amounted to RUB 2 billion. “It is planned to use the funds received from the bond placement to finance the production of at least 60 electric buses,” said Gladkov. “By January 2022, Moscow passengers will be transported by a total of 750 KAMAZ electric buses. As a result of replacing diesel buses with 60 electric buses, CO2 emissions will be reduced by at least 3.6 thousand tonnes per year.”
