KAMAZ PTC plans to implement an investment project at NEFAZ, its subsidiary in Neftekamsk (Bashkiria), to modernize passenger transport production with a cumulative investment of 4.1 billion rubles.
In order to attract state support for the project, it is considered to conclude a special investment contract which proved to be an effective tool for investment promotion.
Over the past three years, the production volumes of NEFAZ PTC have more than doubled, including due to the growth in sales of buses. The new project will help increase production capacity and tax payments. The estimated project execution timeframe is 2022-2030.
The plant produces several types of vehicles at once: dumpers, passenger and crew buses, electric buses, trolleybuses, tank vehicles, drop-side dump trailers and semitrailers. The company has mastered the production of a wide range of buses – city, suburban buses, coaches, arctic, methane-fueled buses. Every third Russian bus is produced by NEFAZ PTC. The company's products have proved to be reliable, even when operated in difficult climatic conditions, in more than 60 regions of Russia and neighboring countries.
NEFAZ PTC is purposefully implementing an investment program, modernizing facilities in workshops, introducing new technologies. The volume of investments in 2020 amounted to 154 million rubles, for 10 months of 2021 – 251 million rubles. These funds were used to purchase high-performance equipment: a MAZAK pipe laser cutting machine (Japan), a CNC laser cutting machine for metal and a CNC double tandem press brake manufactured by DURMAZLAR (Turkey), a CNC turning and milling machine manufactured by Doosan Machine Tools (South Korea), etc.
The effective activity of NEFAZ PTC in 2020 resulted in a net profit of 288 million rubles. The annual EBITDA figure compared to the same period in 2019 increased by 7 times to 622 million rubles.
In 2020, 6,928 dumpers, 2,683 units of cargo trailers, 436 units of tank vehicles, 1,602 passenger buses, 211 electric buses, 650 crew buses were shipped. The share of new vehicles in the volume of marketable products was 7.2%.
In 2021, prototypes of new models of passenger vehicles were manufactured. These are a KAMAZ-6292-0000010 articulated electric bus, a KAMAZ-6282-0000121 electric bus with Mikrovast traction batteries, a KAMAZ-62825-0000020 trolleybus with longer autonomous running, a KAMAZ-6282-123 electric bus, a rebranded NEFAZ-5299-0000231-57 suburban bus and a KAMAZ-6290 fuel cell bus.
It is expected that in 2021 the scope of products and services of NEFAZ PTC will amount to more than 30 billion rubles.
Today, NEFAZ PTC is focusing on the implementation of the investment project "Increasing the Production Capacity for the Production of Passenger Vehicles up to 3,000 Units per Year”. The idea of the project is to double the production capacity for the production of passenger vehicles from 1,500 to 3,000 units per year and to organize modern high-tech production using advanced technological solutions in welding, painting and assembly industries in 2022-2024.
Another significant investment project is “Development of Production Capacities for the Production of K5 Dumpers and Modernization of the Dump Production at NEFAZ PTC”.
