KAMAZ was visited by a government delegation headed by the Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Alexander Kurenkov. The new generation KAMAZ fire trucks were presented to the head of the EMERCOM of Russia.

The head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov was also among the guests. Accompanied by General Director of KAMAZ PTC Sergey Kogogin, the members of the delegation visited the production sites, got acquainted with modern technologies and the company's model range. In particular, the guests visited the truck assembly plant and the engine plant where they saw the work of the cab assembly line, the main assembly line and the R6 engine assembly line.

At the training ground of the company's Scientific and Technical Center, Alexander Kurenkov and Rustam Minnikhanov were presented new models of KAMAZ fire-fighting equipment developed in cooperation with specialists from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. Among them are a tank truck, a ladder truck and a combined fire truck with a ladder on a K5 generation KAMAZ chassis. In these models, the cross-country ability and controllability are improved, the tanks for water and foaming agent are increased, the foam supply capacity is increased. The increased carrying capacity of the chassis makes it possible to mount a wide range of high-altitude fire equipment on it, and the updated system of telescopic supports allows you to install the ladder on the ground of any terrain. The high technical characteristics of the new vehicles will help minimize time losses during fire extinguishing and rescue operations.

“Fire trucks on the KAMAZ chassis successfully perform combat missions at industrial facilities and in settlements. These are reliable, mobile, passable domestic vehicles. The enterprise has all the opportunities for the long-term development of special equipment for the needs of the department,” said Alexander Kurenkov, head of the Russian EMERCOM. He also noted that the KAMAZ and Ural plants will become the only suppliers of equipment for the Russian EMERCOM. This will increase the volume of orders, reduce the cost of purchasing and maintaining equipment, and reduce the time for vehicle maintenance.
