17 June 2022

On Thursday, June 16, within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between KAMAZ PTC and the Research and Production Complex Avtopribor (Vladimir).

The memorandum determines the content and joint action plan for assessing the possibility and launching the production of components for KAMAZ vehicles at the facilities of NPK Avtopribor. The parties agreed to cooperate in order to analyze the possibilities of production at NPK Avtopribor and determine the list of components to be localized. In order to monitor the progress of localization of auto components for KAMAZ vehicles, a working group will be created at the production facilities of NPK Avtopribor LLC.

“KAMAZ, as the leader of the Russian truck industry, continues the strategy aimed at expanding cooperation with Russian manufacturers of automotive components making advanced high-tech products. The signing of a memorandum of cooperation with NPK Avtopribor is another step in this direction,” commented Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ PTC.

“For Avtopribor, this is an important step towards expanding cooperation with one of the company's key partners. The investment program implemented in recent years has made it possible to create conditions for the production of a wide range of automotive components that can replace imported products,” said Tatyana Diesperova, General Director of NPK Avtopribor. She added that NPK Avtopribor had become one of the basic Russian manufacturers of a number of components for the automotive industry and for the energy sector.

The companies have been cooperating for over 40 years. At the moment, NPK Avtopribor is supplying about 50 items of auto parts for various models of KAMAZ vehicles (drives, levers and wipers, electronic speedometers, heater motors, various types of sensors, instrument panels). In the spring of 2022, as part of import substitution, Avtopribor began supplying innovative digital pressure sensors to KAMAZ. Several more pilot projects are under development.
