The painting line of V8 and R6 power units was presented at the engine plant of KAMAZ PTC.
Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ, and Yury Gerasimov, First Deputy Director General – Executive Director, arrived to see the results of the work conducted. In the course of the visit, they attended Shop 423 where the serial production of power units is being set at full speed. They examined a match line and a painting site. Besides, they visited a future R6 crankshaft processing shop.
"The new R6 engine production is the most difficult investment project of our company, and we set great store by it," noted KAMAZ's top manager. "I try to come here once a month to see what has been done. Everything is going well so far. I'm satisfied with what I've seen." Sergey Kogogin also made a special mention of the employees' improved expertise at the engine plant: KAMAZ workers are becoming world-class experts. A short-term plan is to localize production of all components for R6 in one place. Now the plant is busy with preparing all necessary areas for these purposes.
