Prospects of Gas Vehciles Were Discussed at KAMAZ

7 August 2017

KAMAZ PTC (part of Rostec State Corporation) hosted an extended meeting  on operation of gas-engine vehicles and buses with the participation of representatives of Tatarstan's ministries and enterprises using such vehicles.

Within the framework of the event, the company was visited by a large delegation led by Eldar Adeyev, Assistant to Prime Minister of Tatarstan for the Oil and Gas Complex. The delegation also included Andrey Egorov and Ayrat Usmanov, Deputy Ministers of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ildar Mingaleev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, Bulat Gazizullin, General Director of Kazan's branch of OOO Gazprom gazotermnoe toplivo, and others.

"Today the gas engine market is growing rapidly, and information and practical advice received directly from customers allows us to quickly and efficiently solve the problems of development of these innovations," explained Evgeny Pronin, Director for Gas Vehicles of KAMAZ PTC. He also noted that for seven months since the previous meeting KAMAZ has implemented most of suggesstions and significantly raised the level of quality and efficiency of the technical service.

Comprehensive customer service is a top priority for KAMAZ PTC, therefore the company's good tradition is to conduct meetings with transport companies of Tatarstan using NGVs. The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tatarstan support such cooperation.

The event included reports on improvement and development of NGVs, development of service, building gas filling stations in Tatarstan, and presentation of KAMAZ gas-powered vehicles. The participants took a great interest in new models of gas-diesel KAMAZ-5490 truck tractors and the first Russian serial trucks running on liquefied natural gas. Traditionally, both parties were interested in information sharing, and they decided to continue this practice.

The company's own building for the production of gas engine vehicles was opened by KAMAZ in April 2015, as part of the state program to expand the use of natural gas as a motor fuel. Today KAMAZ PTC is the leading Russian manufacturer of trucks and buses running on compressed natural gas. The company serially produces almost the entire traditional model range with gas engines, including buses and special equipment running on compressed natural gas.

At the same time, the development of production of gas-fueled machinery is one of the most important areas for KAMAZ. In 2017, the company produced and was the first in Russia to certify two models of trucks running on liquefied natural gas. The first LNG trucks are KAMAZ-65117-37 and KAMAZ-65116-37.
