The first working meeting with dealers on issues of operation of KAMAZ and Cummins engines in warranty and postwarranty was held at the engine plant of KAMAZ.
Director of the plant Sergey Snarsky opened the meeting having told dealers about the results of work for 2017, prospects of development, innovations in the quality system and plans for the current year. Director for Quality of KAMAZ PTC Anton Saraykin, representatives of the Research and Development Center, KAMAZ Trade and Finance Company, Technological Service of KAMAZ and other subdivisions were also present at the meeting.
One of the main topics was the production of gas engines. Joint events of the engine plant, the R&D Center and the quality department for improvement of specifications were determined. The dealers informed the producer about clients' feedback on energy efficiency, eco-friendliness and reliability of gas engines. The competitive ability of KAMAZ gas engines against similar products made by global producers was also noted.
A special focus was made on direct communication with dealers, without intermediate members. Previously, this process could take up to 100 days, now there are direct links. In the future, the dealers' feedback will enable engineers of the plant jointly search for new technical solutions to improve engines.
The agenda also included a tour of the engine plant where the guests were shown new equipment for production of R6 in-line engines, and presentation of products. The dealers highly appreciated modernization of the plant, the launch of new lines, operation of "Quality Loops", an inspection control. On a tour, they received answers to their questions from competent experts.
It was decided to conduct similar joint meetings regularly, twice or thrice a year, with the presence of not only dealers, but also suppliers of auto parts. The next meeting is to be held in June.
